The foundation Dialogue – Netherlands – Japan – Indonesia has launched the dialogue between Dutch, Japanese and Indonesians since 2000 that were once enemies in the Second World War and now do not want anymore.

What we do

We talk about the war and the past, especially on the personal experiences during the Japanese occupation of the former Dutch East Indies and beyond, and the traces it has left in us, but especially about the future, to better each other’s cultures understand and give a view of hope, reconciliation, liberation from hatred, friendship and peace.

Conference

Some victims dialogue helps to process the past. For others it is an opportunity to learn directly from the actual witnesses to the history of their own country. In our dialogue conference the experiences of war are transferred from the older generation to the younger postwar generation for the future.

To avoid war absolutely and sowing hatred combat, we must continue this dialogue in the future.
